 Many users have this misconception that setting up a universal remote is a complicated process. Well in fact programming a universal remote is simple. You just need to know the right process.

 Below we have mentioned instructions for all three methods.

Programming ByJasco Universal Remote without codes.

 STEP 1: Power on the device you want to program to use with the remote (ex: If you want to set up the remote for TV then power on the TV manually)

STEP 2: Start up the remote. Now from different device buttons on the remote (TV, DVD, CBL, and OK/SEL) press and hold the one which matches your device for around 3 seconds. Till the LED lights up indicating that the remote is ready to set up.

STEP 3: Press the “CH+” and “CH-“buttons on the remote while indicating it towards the device until the device turns off.

STEP 4: To check the code, press on the power button. Once the device is turned on, change channels to confirm that the remote is programmed perfectly.

STEP 5: To save the code, press the device button. The LED will flash twice for verifying the code you saved.

Programming ByJasco Universal Remote by Manual Method.

This method is useful when you have located the code of the device. The code automatically recognizes the device and thus easily program the remote.

Follow the below steps:

STEP 1: Power on the device you want to program to use with the remote (ex: If you want to setup the remote for TV then switch on the TV manually)

STEP 2: Start up the remote. From the various device buttons on the remote (TV, DVD, CBL and OK/SEL) press and hold the one which matches with your device for around 3 seconds. Till the LED lights up indicating that the remote is ready to setup.

STEP 3: Enter the remote code for the device (you will find it in the instruction manual of the remote) using the number buttons.

STEP 4: Now while indicating the remote towards the device, press the power button on the remote till the device turns off.

This is the simplest way to program your remote. In case the device is not operating then try some different code from the manual and repeat the above mentioned steps.

In case you do not have the code for the device, you can then go for this method to program your remote by putting it on search mode by the use of manual codes. The remote will then be searching for a code until it finds the correct one for your device.

Follow the below steps:

STEP 1 Turn on the device you want to program to use with the remote (ex: If you want to set up the remote for TV then switch on the TV manually)

STEP 2 Next enter the three-digit 9-9-1 code while pressing the “SETUP” button on the remote.

STEP 3 After entering the code press the power button and the channel up button and wait till the device turns off.

STEP 4 The device turn-off indicates that the device is set up with the remote.

This method may be time-consuming compared to the other methods but once you are done with the above-mentioned steps the universal remote will work properly.
